Paper & Chain Ltd t/a Paper & Chain (“Paper & Chain, “we” “us” and “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from) and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you. 

This privacy policy aims to give you information on how we collect and process your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website when you sign up to our newsletter or comment upon our blog. 

This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

What data do we collect about you?

We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

How is your personal data collected?

1.     To register you as a client, to manage our relationship with you and respond to any queries, comments or complaints you may have when you contact us through our website or at the email address referred to in this privacy notice we use your identity and contact data. This is necessary for our legitimate interests.

2.     To administer and protect our business and this website (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data) we use your usage and technical data. This is necessary for our legitimate interests (for network security).

3.     To deliver relevant website content to you and measure or understand the effectiveness of the content we serve to you we use your usage and technical data. This is necessary for our legitimate interests (to study how individuals use our website and content, to develop them, to grow our business and to inform our marketing strategy).

How about marketing?

We may send you newsletters and marketing emails where you have expressed you would like us to do so.  You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by contacting usat any time. 

Where you opt out of receiving these marketing messages, this will not apply to personal data provided to us as a result of other dealings with our website.

Do you use cookies?

Our Site allows the following third parties to use their persistent and session cookies on our Site, (i) Google Analytics and (ii) Squarespace. We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of the Site. Google Analytics gathers information about website use by means of cookies. The information gathered relating to the Site is used to create reports about the use of the Site.

Who do we share your personal data with?

We may share your personal data for the purposes and with the parties set out below:

i)               Technical service providers (such as our email host, web analytics and CRM database) 

ii)              If we're involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of some or all of our business and/or or assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that deal

iii)            Professional advisors such as auditors, lawyers, bankers, accountants, insurers and lawyers

iv)            In order to protect our rights, property or safety eg fraud protection, credit risk reduction etc

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

International transfers

We share your personal data with Squarespace whose servers are based in the US. This will involve transferring your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

How will you store my personal data and how long for?

We ensure that appropriate and suitable safeguards and technical measures are in place to protect your personal data, and that transfers of your information are limited to the necessary minimum. We will only keep records of your personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which we have collected it, and in order to comply with any statutory or regulatory obligations in relation to retention of records. We respect requests to stop processing your personal data for marketing purposes. This includes keeping a record of your request indefinitely so that we can respect your request in future.

What are your rights?

You have the right to request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal information, the right to restrict processing of your personal information and the right to object to processing of your personal information. You have the right to object to your personal information being processed on the grounds of our legitimate interests. You have the right to object to us sending you direct marketing.
